About HostForge
Built from experience,
not a template.
HostForge started in 2017 under the name Banter Hosting — a small operation serving gaming and hobby communities. The infrastructure, the experience, and the customer relationships all grew from there.
The story
We've been hosting websites since 2017. What started as a small hobby reseller serving gaming communities evolved into something more serious — and eventually became HostForge.
The rebrand wasn't cosmetic. It reflected a shift in who we were serving: UK small businesses, developers, and communities who wanted a hosting provider they could actually talk to.
We're not trying to compete with Hostinger on price or AWS on scale. We're competing on something harder to fake: being genuinely useful, honest, and present when something goes wrong.
Started as Banter Hosting, serving gaming and hobbyist communities. Small operation, genuine care.
Expanded via Krystal partnership. UK data centres, Ecotricity power, proper SLAs.
Became HostForge. Broader market, same values — direct, honest, and present.
Still answering tickets. Still planting trees. Still not doing introductory pricing.
Our values
What we actually believe.
Direct
We tell you what you're getting. We don't dress up limitations as features or hide renewal prices in footnotes.
Honest
If something goes wrong, we say so. If a plan isn't right for you, we'll tell you. That's not marketing — it's just how we work.
Grounded
We don't have a passion for hosting. We're experienced at it, we care about doing it well, and we show up. That's enough.
Sustainable
Ecotricity power, PUE ≤ 1.2, and 108 trees planted. Our business model shouldn't cost the planet more than it needs to.
